ORFF-SCHULWERK TEACHER TRAINING COURSE (Level I)

June 18-29, 2007 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily

The workshop will emphasize movement, body percussion, speech, rhythmic and melodic ensembles, voice, and soprano recorder. Composition and arranging for the Orff Instrumentarium, lesson planning, and curriculum development will also be included.

Fees and Registration

The workshop fee is $385.00. To reserve a place, download and return the form below with $100.00 deposit by May 21, 2007. Checks should be made payable to the Hugh Hodgson School of Music and mailed to Dr. Roy Legette, Hugh Hodgson School of Music, The University of Georgia, 250 River Road, Athens, GA 30602. Payment in full is due the first day of class. Deposits will not be refunded after June 1, 2007. Class enrollment is limited. Early registration is advised.

Certified Faculty

Deanna Stark is presently on the faculty of Kingsbury Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee. She holds a master's degree in Orff-Schulwerk and a Ph.D. in historical musicology from the University of Memphis. Certified in all three levels of Orff-Schulwerk, Stark is an active workshop clinician and has conducted certification courses and workshops throughout the southeast and midwest.

Judith Beale has presented teacher education workshops across the southeastern and eastern United States. She is certified in all three levels of Orff-Schulwerk and has completed the master class. Beale, a past state chair of the Elementary Division of the Georgia Music Educators Association, is currently on the faculty of Ford Elementary School in Acworth, Georgia.
