The UGA Trombone Choir, founded in 1967 by Philip Jameson, is one of the most active performing ensembles at the University of Georgia School of Music. The Choir specializes in performing a wide variety of musical styles -- from Renaissance to ragtime, from Baroque to Broadway. A recent priority has been to commission and perform several new works for trombone choir. The group has presented concerts throughout the Southeast, with special appearances at Georgia Music Educator's Association state conventions, the Georgia Composers League, the Unified Arts Conference, the Southeast Trombone Workshop, and thirteen Eastern Trombone Workshops. They also regularly perform in area schools and at community events.
