African-American Choral Ensemble
| In 1972, a group of African American students formed a vocal ensemble. In 1986, The School of Music adopted the organization in order to form a new course offering for elective credit for all university students. The group's title distinguishes it from the other choral groups on the campus in that it describes the literature to be performed by this diverse group's membership. The group performs serious music by black composers, as well as popular and gospel music and spirituals from the African-American heritage. AACE is open to all students by audition. "Dominion" is a small ensemble selected from the chorus. |
