Dwight Satterwhite

Professor

Dr. H. Dwight Satterwhite is professor of music at the University of Georgia and is active as a conductor, guest conductor, adjudicator, clinician, and pedagogue.

He has served as guest conductor throughout the United States and in Great Britain, Germany, Israel, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Brazil. He has conducted performances introducing new band literature on nationally distributed recordings for Carl Fischer, Southern Music, C. Alan Publications.

Dr. Satterwhite is the author of Power in the Progress System an enrichment curriculum for any band program.  He is also the designer of the Student Achievement Tracking Software that accompanies the Power program.  The Power in the Progress System has recently been cited in two national publications, The Music Educators Journal and The National Band Association Journal.

Prior to his appointment at the University of Georgia, he was director of bands at Valdosta State University and for sixteen years, directed distinguished High School and Junior High School band programs in Alabama, Texas, and Florida.
