Mallets and Majors

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Two great concerts in the HHSOM today, snow notwithstanding: The UGA Mallet Ensemble, under the direction of new percussion faculty member Scott Pollard, performs at 6 p.m. in Ramsey Concert Hall over at the Performing Arts Center; and the Concert Band and the University Band share the bill at Hodgson Concert Hall beginning at 8 p.m. Admission is free to both performances and the public is invited to attend.

The Concert and University bands are large concert bands made up of non-music majors. The University Band, conducted by James Henderson and John Schnettler will play the following:

Cajun Folks songs, Rush by Samuel Hazo, Kirkpatrick Fanfare, and Rhosymedre by Ralph Vaughn Williams.

The Concert Band, conducted by Josh Byrd and Amy Knopps, will perform the following:

Alligator Alley, Allerseelen, Moonside March, Viktor's Tale and The Walking Frog.
