FULL SEASON OF performances

The Hugh Hodgson School of Music (HHSOM) at the University of Georgia is offering a complete season of  26 ticketed live concerts and performances during the upcoming academic year. This return to a full calendar of events, following several years of pandemic adaptations, is designed to invite students and local audiences alike to experience a diverse offering of events including ensembles like the UGA Symphony Orchestra, UGA Wind Ensemble, UGA Hodgson Singers, UGA Opera Theatre, and Faculty Artist concerts.

PICK TWELVE

Thursday Scholarship Series 

The Thursday Scholarship Series began in 1980 and continues the tradition of “Music Appreciation Programs” started by Hugh Hodgson in the 1930s. Proceeds from ticket sales to these concerts and contributions made by you are the primary means through which School of Music scholarship funds are raised each year. Please note: Due to scheduling, some of our "Thursday" performances are on Fridays. Please be sure to check the dates of each performance.  All performances are in Hodgson Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday Scholarship Series Tickets are $128, a savings of 20%, and include the ten performances below.

Additionally, since there are two performances of the Annual Holiday Concert, you will need to select your TSS packages with your preferred date:

Ensemble Series

The biggest challenge of a performance degree in music is making sure the instrumentalists and vocalists have the chance to experience a wide variety of repertoire and musical styles. The Ensemble Series allows them to do just that as our students move through the Wind Ensemble, the Symphony Orchestra, and more. All performances are in Hodgson Hall at 7:30 p.m. Ensemble Series Tickets are $120, a savings of 20%, and include the ten performances below.

Opera Theatre Series

UGA Opera Theatre is where solo vocal performance, choral performance, and instrumental performance merge for an exquisite evening of musical storytelling. Providing the students and audience alike classical favorites as well as modern and experimental works, the UGA Opera Theatre offers something for everyone. Opera Theatre Series Tickets are $32, a savings of 20%, and include "Mythos & Machinations" and "Tragedy of Carmen." The UGA Opera Scenes Program in April is a free performance with no tickets required.

FREE PERFORMANCES

Throughout the year we offer an extensive variety of concerts, ensembles, and innovative experimental compositions that are free and open to the public, including high quality guest artists. These opportunities are often still being scheduled over the summer and into the school year, so please check back here often for updates on our free "Connection Series."
